My Acorn software file index

All software on this site is suitable for Acorn Risc OS machines and is StrongARM compatible. GNAT and CLISP have been ported to Risc OS by Peter Burwood. I have also patched the other programs, but did not do the original ports.

There is also a link to gauvac port which I helped port to Risc OS

GNAT

You can download the latest version of GNAT, the GNU Ada compiler, for Risc OS from this page.

Important note: This is not a `supported version' built by the GNAT core team. So, please report all bugs to gnat@arcangel.dircon.co.uk. The Risc OS version does not support tasking yet, but this is being worked upon.

CLISP

You can download the latest version of CLISP, a Common Lisp compiler, for Risc OS from this page.

There is a mailing list for users of CLISP. It is the proper forum for questions about CLISP, installation problems, bug reports, application packages etc. For information about the list and how to subscribe it, send mail to listserv@ma2s2.mathematik.uni-karlsruhe.de, with the two lines

guavac

You can download the latest version of guavac, a Java compiler, for Risc OS from Peter Naulls' website (http://chocky.home.ml.org/). Note, sometimes that website is very slow or unreachable. Please do not blame me about it, because I can do nothing about it.

Guavac is a compiler for the Java language, written by Effective Edge Technologies and distributed under the GNU Public License.

StrongARM patched binaries

The following binaries have been patched to work on the StrongARM and still work earlier ARMs. Note, the programs have not been rebuilt, just patched. However, I have used them many times over the last few months on my StrongARM without any problems.
